Abstract

The preparation and selection of educational books is one of the most difficult matters facing those responsible for educational programs, because both processes require a set of standards, controls, conditions and specifications, without which both become unscientific. Arabic language education for special purposes is a recent movement in the field of Arabic language education for non-native speakers in this digital age, as this type of education focuses on the needs of learners in learning the Arabic language, its literature and culture, either for academic purposes, for professional purposes, for businessmen and the like. However, the specifications of the educational book are very important and come first before the tools and devices. The Arabic Language for Special Purposes book of the Department of Arabic Language and Literature at Riyadh University of Science Tasikmalaya has its own specifications. Based on this, the researcher tried to search for the specifications of the Arabic for Special Purposes book that the researcher used to teach it in this university. This research was a descriptive-analytic study. One of the most important findings of this research is that the characteristics of this book include the inner and outer cover, the main article, vocabulary, and exercises, and these materials led to the development of students' reading skills, and their use is specialized for teachers and university students.
