Abstract

This study describes the role of Khalid bin Walid in the expansion of the Islamic region in the Arabian Peninsula, which at that time was the beginning of the seeds of the glory of Islam and the core of the spread of Islam to the world. The selection of this theme is considered important because there are many sciences that we can bring from the role of Khalid bin Walid and his genius in organizing war strategies. This thesis will explain the background of Khalid's conversion to Islam and his being made a warlord, Khalid's role in the expansion of the Islamic region and how Khalid's term ended during the time of Ummar bin Khattab RA. The methodology used in writing this research is the historical research methodology and in this research, the researcher focuses on library sources or library research, namely research that reveals facts through library data. The research takes two theories used, including the charismatic leadership theory of Stephen P. Robbins, and the War Strategy Theory of Carl Phillip Gottfried von Clausewitz. The results of research from various scientific studies reveal that Khalid bin Walid was a commander of Islamic troops who was an expert in war strategy, so that Khalid had never experienced defeat in his life, until finally Khalid was demoted as war commander during the time of Caliph Umar bin Khattab for various reasons.
