This edition of Jazirah: Journal of Civilization and Culture brings together diverse scholarly contributions that reflect the journal’s interdisciplinary focus on history, language, literature, and culture. The articles are written by researchers from leading Indonesian institutions such as UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Universitas Mataram, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung, UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, Universitas Gadjah Mada, and UIN Imam Bonjol Padang as well as Al-Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt.
